Hi back, and thanks! The way I learned about I.F. is from the Caveman Power Diet, which is also how I transitioned into paleo. What I did was, for about three weeks, I grazed all day on organic snack food. A handful of nuts here, a small piece of fruit there, a carrot now and then, only when I was hungry. Then every night I would have a meal of anything I wanted (anything, didn’t matter if it was paleo or not), and of any size. But once that meal was done, no more eating until the next day, when I started light grazing again. This also gave me a chance to eat all the non-paleo food I had in my house, so I didn’t have to throw anything away. This was Stage One of Three.
After those 3 weeks were up, I entered Stage Two. In this stage, I only ate an organic paleo meal, of any size, and at any time of the day I wanted. I could eat as much as I wanted, but once I was full, I had to stop, and not eat ANYTHING again until the next day’s feast. It was surprisingly easy to transition from grazing to nothing after 3 weeks of that schedule.
Once my 3 weeks were up (and I lost something crazy like 25 pounds), I moved on to Stage 3, which was eat all organic paleo food when I’m hungry, and stop when I’m full. That’s it. After all that training, I learned to listen to my body, and realized, I felt optimal while eating only one meal a day. I still do. Every now and then I will eat a light breakfast, or a snack during the day, but mostly I just eat one big meal at dinner time, and I’m rarely hungry until the next night.
Thanks for reading! Ugga-Bugga!
