Well, if you’re eating pure paleo, it’s really hard to do damage to your body, even if you eat more than you should. But if you feel like you stuff yourself, like a kishka at a bar mitzvah, you should make a concerted effort to listen to your body, and stop when you’re full. If that means slowing down, so be it, just get in tune with yourself.
This is a case where Intermittent Fasting may benefit you. If you only eat one meal a day, go ahead and stuff yourself. Then roll around on your back like a lion that just ate a zebra, and digest for 24 hours until your next meal. One of the beautiful things about paleo is no calorie counting! And it’s really hard to get fat on one meal a day, no matter how large. Remember, we don’t need as much food to survive as we think we need.
