Personally I would not say it’s a good alternative for several reasons. First, because even though the feed is organic, all that means is the cows are fed organic soy and organic corn. Cows aren’t meant to eat that. They’re supposed to eat grass, period. Maybe a wild flower or two. If they were supposed to eat corn, their necks would have evolved over time to be long and able to reach up high. Instead, they’re designed to reach down for grazing purposes.
Also, the label saying “vegetarian” feed is just a marketing ploy. What do they usually put in their feed, meat? Of course it’s vegetarian, but they make it as if the word itself indicates this is health food!
But mostly I don’t think it’s a good alternative because you CAN buy grass fed beef, right now, online! In today’s world you no longer need to have a farmers market or supermarket nearby to sell you wild game or grass fed beef, just order it and they ship right to your door, you lazy bastard!
I recommend Topline Foods, which I just did a review for, and it’s a top notch company. They gave all my readers a coupon last time, and I have a new one for you now too! It comes in the box with your first shipment, and it’s part of their Referral Rewards Program. You enter the coupon code HookMeUp when you check out, and you get $10 bucks off! Then when they ask “How did you find us,” you put in my name and maybe email address (email@example.com), and I get $10 off too! Captain Caveman needs to save money too, you think grass fed beef grows on trees?! And their prices are pretty competitive, so the $10 takes care of any shipping costs. So enjoy your grass-fed beef NOW, and hook a caveman up at the same time! Thanks!
